Macam-macam Kata Kerja Dalam Bahasa Inggris

Saat berbicara Bahasa Inggris pastinya harus dipahami dong gimana susunan kata yang baik, supaya orang lain yang diajak bicara gampang mengerti. Susunan kalimat identik dengan gramatically yaitu subject + verb. dan kali ini Mr.BOB Kampung Inggris akan bahas tentang verb.

Jenis kata kerja (verb)  berfungsi mendeskripsikan tindakan ( action) dari subject . Berikut macam-macam kata kerja (verb).

1. ) Action verb

Action verb atau dynamic verb adalah kata kerja untuk menyatakan bahwa subject sedang melakukan suatu aksi atau untuk menyatakan bahwa sesuatu terjadi.

Contoh:

• I wrote a story ( Saya menulis cerita )
  
• Rudi and Dian are playing football ( Rudi dan Dian sedang bermain sepakbola )
  

2. ) Verb Tense

Adalah kata kerja berdasar tenses dalam kalimat. Baik Present Tense, Past Tense, atau Future Tense.

Berikut penjelasan singkatnya :

a.) Present Tense, menunjukan kejadian yang sering dilakukan (habit).

Contoh :

She dances ( Dia menari )

b.) Past Tense, menujukkan kejadian yang terjadi pada masa lampau.

Contoh :

She danced last night ( Dia telah menari kemarin malam )

c.) Future Tense, menunjukkan kejadian yang akan terjadi pada masa depan.

Contoh :

She will dance tonight ( Dia akan menari nanti malam )

 

3. ) Main Verb and Helping Verb

a.) Main verb adalah kata kerja utama yang menunjukkan apa yang dilakukan oleh subjek utamanya.

Contoh:

They were watering the flowers.    Main verb : watering

b.) Helping Verb adalah kata kerja bantu untuk kata kerja utama, biasanya helping verb ini berupa to be, do/does, has/have/had, dan modal.

Contoh :

They were watering the flower.     Helping verb : were

4.) Linking Verb

Merupakan kata yang menghubungkan subjek dengan informasi atau deskripsi – berupa nouns, adjective, atau adverb– tentang subjek tersebut. Linking verb dibagi menjadi dua yaitu, Verb of Sensation dan Verb of Being.

a. ) Verb of Sensation,

contoh:

• Feel – I felt dizzy after going around here and there.
• Look – She looked gorgerous with those shoes.
• Smell – The egg smell rotten.
• Sound – it sounds good.
• Taste – the food that my mother cooked taste delicious.

 

b.) Verb of Being,

contoh:

• Act – She acted as a big boss in this movie.
• Appear – She appears up set everytime she has a period.
• Be – He is the most handsome boy in my class.
• Become – He has just become a father.
• Continue – The rain continues, so swe cancel the plan Grow – The flower will grow well if you water it everyday.
• Prove – They proved the truth in front of the public.
• Remain – it remain a sectret.
• Seem – Ninda’s planning seems interesting.
• Turn –Her face turns red when she meets her boyfriends.

5.) Iregular Verb

Adalah kata kerja yang tak beraturan. Kata kerja jenis ini memiliki ciri, yaitu tidak ditambah –d atau –ed untuk bentuk past tense dan past participle-nya. Lihat contoh berikut.

Run	Dinda runs to the park	Dinda ran to the park	She has run to the park before.
Buy	She buys new shoes	She bought new shoes	She has already bought new shoes

6.) Regular Verb

Adapaun regular verb merupakan kata kerja yang berahiran –d ataupun –ed. Untuk bentuk past tense tense dan past participle dari kata beraturan ini tidak ada perubahan sama sekali atau dengan kata lain dengan bentukanya sama. Berikut contohnya:

Verb	Present Tense	Past Tense	Past Participle
Play	Hanif plays football with Rudi	Hanif played football with Rudi	Hanif has played football with Rudi.
water	She waters the flowers	She watered flower	She has just watered flower.
